Medical Students for Choice

Medical Students for Choice (MSFC) is a national org, founded by medical students in 1993, in response to the almost complete lack of abortion education in medical training. MSFC’s main goal is to advocate for our right to obtain an education on safe abortion. Our chapter of MSFC at the David Geffen School of Medicine aims to provide education and gain a deeper, nuanced understanding of reproductive care, justice, and advocacy. Examples of events we hold every year include: an introductory panel held in conjunction with the OBGYN Interest Group where you can hear from some of our amazing Ob/Gyn faculty and Family Planning fellows, the ever-popular Papaya workshop to learn about manual vacuum aspiration, the Values Clarification and Attitude Transformation Workshop, film screenings, the Family Planning Shadowing program, and the Surgical Skills workshop.
