CORE at UCLA

CORE at UCLA strives to promote increased equity of care for patients in underserved communities through a variety of ways. CORE at UCLA advocates for the integration of often overlooked unique cultural expressions and norms into modern medical diagnoses. To accomplish these objectives, the mediums of action consist of research articles, podcasts about the immediate and long-term implications of global health policies, down to instructional pamphlets for step-by-step guides on operating medical devices. In addition, we aim to foster productive partnerships with minority leaders and free clinic groups in Los Angeles to offer members clinical and non-clinical volunteering opportunities. We also aim to seek to improve health equity abroad through medical volunteering missions in free ophthalmology clinics in India and community centers in the Middle East.
