Advocating Health Equity and Inclusivity
We aim to advocate for and uplift our healthcare system's immigrants, refugees, and other marginalized groups seeking to receive inclusive care. Drawing from the fields of sociology, psychology, and critical theory, we as future providers and active community members plan to lead medicine to a more equitable path. We want to educate our members on important public health issues, such as various disparities in medicine through workshops, presentations, and guest speakers. Our initiative is to provide an opportunity for our members to foster a connection with our community through creating informative posts on our social media and website. We ultimately hope to amplify the determinants of health that are influenced by the availability and accessibility of varying resources that contribute to health outcomes.
