Beating in Sync

Beating in Sync aims to raise community awareness of atrial fibrillation (Afib), the most common irregular heartbeat that affects at least 3 to 6 million people in the United States and over 37 million people worldwide. If left untreated, Afib can lead to serious complications including stroke and heart failure. These complications, along with its increasing prevalence in our society make education about this condition imperative. Our objective is to equip members with sufficient knowledge to be able to educate the greater Los Angeles community about Afib, and implement measures to prevent its occurrence entirely. Additionally, we seek to learn about the latest technologies pertaining to all aspects of Afib care, from those implemented in its detection and diagnosis, to those involved in treating this complex disease.
